IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT CARECONNECT

As you know CareConnect has announced its decision to withdraw from the New York State insurance market. After negotiation with the Department of Financial Services, it has been determined that as of 11/30/2017 CareConnect will no longer write contracts for groups. A formal statement from the insurer can be found at www.careconnect.com/news-events.All CareConnect members will have the option to participate in the 1/1/2018 special open enrollment period, during which HealthPass will have multiple new plan offerings in its portfolio to choose from. If a CareConnect member does not make a selection during this period, the member will remain enrolled in their current plan and will have another opportunity to select a new plan during the group’s regularly scheduled renewal.

General Special Open Enrollment Questions

When can I enroll in a new plan?

Each of the special open enrollment periods (CareConnect and Oscar) will span from 12/14/17 – 1/2/18.

CareConnect Special Open Enrollment

1. Who is eligible for the CareConnect Special Open Enrollment Period?

All CareConnect members will have the option to participate in the 1/1/2018 special open enrollment period

Can I enroll in any health plan during this special open enrollment period?

The majority of health plans from the HealthPass portfolio will be available during this period and will be available to all CareConnect members.

What should I do if I want to keep my current plan?

If this special open enrollment period occurs during your group’s regularly schedule 1/1/2018, all CareConnect members must choose a new plan.

CareConnect members who do not wish to change their plan will remain actively enrolled in their current CareConnect plan until the group’s regularly scheduled 2018 renewal.

Am I able to make any other changes to my current insurance plans during this period?

No, this special open enrollment period is for health plan changes only.
